Playing House Exhibition Opens At Canberra Museum & Gallery Feature

Saturday 11 October, 2008 saw the opening of the dolls' house exhibition "Playing House" at the Canberra Museum & Gallery by the Swedish Ambassador.

The exhibition compiled by Anna-Maria Sviatko features contemporary dolls' houses from the period 1957 to 2007.

Of the 14 dolls' houses on display, six of these are Lundby dolls' houses including the Stockholm dolls' house launched in 2007 and the oldest doll's house in the collection is also a Lundby.

It's not only a wonderful exhibition of dolls' houses but a great way of seeing how western material culture developed over this period.

The exhibition will run until January 26, 2009.

Canberra Times article from Thursday, October 16 below featuring a Lundby doll's house circa 1970s (in fact this is the same house I grew up with (Paula Opfer) which is what inspired to me to bring the range into Australia to enjoy. It has to be one of the best play experiences a child can have.
